PMI Defensive Instructor

George Jackson retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2012 after 24 years of military service. His career began as an Electrical Systems Specialist and member of an Air Force PRIME Base Engineering Emergency Forces (BEEF) team for 7 years. George was a task trainer and task certifier and deployed to the Southwest Asia and Pacific areas of operations. He also participated in hurricane relief efforts in the Hawaiian Islands as part of a Joint Task Force. After being selected as a member of the Opposing Force Cadre, he tested defensive postures and tactics of PRIME BEEF teams in their deployment area.

Over the next 9 years, George was assigned to missile warning, air intelligence, and selectively manned classified operations in Australia, San Antonio, and Las Vegas. He then spent 8 years as a Combat Search and Rescue loadmaster, both in Air Force Special Operations and Air Combat Commands and was deployed to the Central Command and Africa Command areas of operations. George provided flight training and evaluations and ensured standards were met as a flight instructor and flight examiner. Jackson is also a qualified aircrew Night Vision Goggle instructor.

George was selected to lead the Air Combat Command conversion to the newest C-130J variant the HC-130J and was responsible for aircraft test and evaluation, created operating instructions, training standards and evaluation criteria for follow on crews. He has trained and operated with defense forces from South Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, United Kingdom, Honduras, and Chile. Jackson holds multiple Small Arms Expert qualifications with the .38 revolver, M9, M-16, GUU-5/P and M-4; George is experienced in concealed carry, aircraft security, and anti-hijacking measures. Additionally, he participated in humanitarian assistance operations in Texas. Beginning in 2002, George also worked at a Las Vegas casino for 3 years providing security for concerts, special events, celebrities, and an on property nightclub venue.

Since 2012, he has been employed with a large defense contractor as a contract instructor and provides professional instruction to U.S. Air Force flight crews. George instructs mission qualification, instructor qualification, and refresher courses for HC/MC-130J students performing Combat Search and Rescue and Special Operations missions.

Jackson is a NRA Life Member and NRA Certified Instructor in the following disciplines: Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, Personal Protection-Inside the Home, and Personal Protection-Outside the Home. He is an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. George has also graduated all NRA pistol courses to include Defensive Pistol. He has completed numerous personal defense firearms courses in pistol, rifle, and shotgun and always seeks new learning opportunities.

Jackson is a graduate of Massad Ayoob Group’s MAG-40, a 40 hour intensive course focusing on rules of engagement for the armed citizen, emphasizing legal issues, tactical issues, and aftermath management in defensive shootings. George is a Glock Certified Instructor and Armorer. Striving to keep his skills honed, he participates as a competitive shooter in both IDPA and 3-gun.
